Village and Grounds Maintenance
Employee Job Description

Summary:  Works with the Village Maintenance Staff and other Village personnel in maintaining Village streets and grounds. May assist with occasional operation at the Village Bath House. Position is full time seasonal from end of March through the end of November.

General Job Duties:

• Mowing grass (may include using a push mower, weed whip, power edger) on all village properties
• Trimming shrubs, cleaning up fallen limbs, raking brush
• General groundskeeping in DeRivera Park and the Village's Bathing Beach
• Emptying trash containers withing Village
• Keeping Bath House deck area clean, and Park/Village sidewalks clear of debris
• Fall leaf Pickup
• Maintain Town Hall and its Grounds
• Occasionally assist in the maintenance of the Village Bath House
• Assist the Streets Department as needed
• Assists Maintenance Department as needed

Requirements:  Must maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver's License.

Work Schedule:  Employee can expect to work five and/or six days a week, including weekends and early morning hours.

Housing:  The Village of Put-in-Bay has does not currently have any available housing.

Commuting:  The Village of Put-in-Bay will reimburse employees who wish to commute to the island at the conclusion of their pre-agreed employment period.  Miller Ferry and/or the Jet Express each have season passes available.

Pay:  $10.00 to $19.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly

Retirement:  All employees are members of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). A percentage of one's gross salary is deducted from each paycheck and paid into a retirement fund.
